TOP TRAVEL MEMORY:
I have two top travel memories, both of which mixed R&R with adventure.
Â
Thailand family vacation was really special because it was a first for all of us and ages of my children were a sweet spot. We did everything from classic tourist sightseeing to resort beach vacation. The food is amazing on the streets and it was so fun to try it all. Take me back NOW. countryside road-tripping to the River Kwai, with stops along the way like to an elephant sanctuary, a couple temples and a floating community. Next, we flew to Phuket and had a beach resort and watersports change of pace, canoeing thru caves and cliff jumping near Lawa Island. Getting to see my then young children experience and try all the food and engage with the friendly Thai people at the Chiang Mai Street markets that made this trip a top memory for me.  Â

My second top memory was a trip to Tanzania with our friends. With the most amazing safari guide, our adventurous group always felt safe, entertained, and happy. The cultural experiences throughout this trip such as hunting with Hadzabe Bushmen, visiting and gifting a local orphanage with sports equipment, and meeting local tribes, left lasting memories and an impact we’ll cherish forever. One funny moment was after arriving at a lodge at the Ngorongoro Crater, I was changing and freshening up when a herd of elephants came walking by my floor-to-ceiling windows. The elephants sure got a sight to see… I’ll just say that. The trip ended with beach time on Zanzibar Island, swimming with exotic sea life. So surreal.
